After today’s lecture I realized how big of industry Video Production is and how many jobs are involved in the industry. Video Production is a great and fun industry to be in, it has a lot of opportunities available. Also I learned the wide variety of Video Production classes that BYU-Idaho offers.

9/29/11 I-COMM Introduction / John Thompson
Today Bro. Thompson introduced I-COMM, and all the benefits of joining. I learned the three departments of I-COMM.
1. 1.Scroll, Copy Editing, Photo
2. 2.Scroll Digital, Video Productions, Online
3. 3.Advertising/ PR Agency, Design, Sales
After Bro. Thompson lecture, I definitely considered being apart of the I-COMM team. But unfortunately it just didn’t work with my schedule this semester, hopefully I can try next semester. But I enjoyed the lecture.
9/22/11 News/ Journalism / Lane Williams
Today I learned that reporters don’t just report the story, they tell the story. Journalism connects us to what is going on around us, and reporters are the ones who touch our lives. Also I never thought that being a journalist is dangerous until today. Reporters push limits, they print the stories that no one will talk about, they expose scandals and make history .Reporters make a difference, everyone has something to say they say it with passion. Today’s lecture really made me think about journalism, and possibly being a reporter.
